Sometimes a career change doesn’t mean changing your company – sometimes it’s all about embracing the opportunities within. Today we’re talking to our colleague, Piotr, who step by step explored different roles at Balcia and eventually landed in his current position – Junior Sales Manager.
1. What was your journey at Balcia before changing positions?
Piotr: My adventure started on August 1, 2023. I began in Customer Relations, where my everyday tasks included solving clients’ problems – from changing registration numbers to processing cancellations. Next, I moved to Broker Service, where I worked closely with brokers and focused mainly on issuing fleet policies. After that, I became a Sales Specialist, handling direct sales of all Balcia products. Today, I’m working as a Junior Sales Manager!
2. What made you decide to take part in internal recruitment?
Piotr: With every position, I felt I could achieve more. Internal recruitment was a natural next step – I wanted to try new tasks and see how I would perform in another role.
3. Which skills from your previous roles have been most useful in your new one?
Piotr: Definitely my experience working directly with clients and brokers. It gave me confidence and made it much easier to build new relationships – and that’s the skill that helps me the most now.
4. What was the most interesting part of changing positions?
Piotr: Each change came with a bit of stress and the question: “Will I manage?”. That’s the classic feeling with new challenges – some worries, but also lots of positive energy.
5. What do you like most about working at Balcia and our culture?
Piotr: Balcia is not a typical corporate environment. Communication is easy, no one is closed off, and I never feel like just another number in Excel.
6. What one piece of advice would you give to someone considering a change of position within the company?
Piotr: Just go for it! As the saying goes: “dreams don’t just come true – you make them come true”.
