Sometimes career growth doesn’t require changing companies – it simply means being open to new opportunities within the one you already know and trust. At Balcia, we encourage our people to explore, learn, and challenge themselves in different roles. Today we’re talking to our colleague Roberts, who in less than a year transitioned from Customer Care Specialist to Sales Specialist, proving that curiosity, motivation, and the right support can open exciting new doors.

1. What was your journey at Balcia before changing positions?
I joined Balcia a year ago as a Customer Care Specialist. Looking back, I’d say my experience in that role was excellent. The team was supportive, had a great sense of humor, and was always focused on achieving strong results. It was definitely a great experience.

2. What made you decide to take part in internal recruitment?
I really enjoyed the work I was doing, but I felt ready for a change in my work environment and wanted to try something new. I’m the kind of person who says “Let’s go” to new opportunities, and I approached the internal recruitment process with that mindset, hoping I would be the one selected.

3. Which skills from your previous role have been most useful in your new one?
I would say communication is the key skill. In fact, it’s the foundation of almost any job. If you’re not able or are afraid to communicate and handle situations, it’s hard to grow. In my new role, communication plays a huge part in my daily work.

4. What was the most interesting part of changing positions?
The most interesting part of my new role is building relationships and having conversations with partners - understanding their perspectives and ways of thinking.

5. What do you like most about working at Balcia and our culture?
Definitely the communication, energy, and speed within the company. Whether it’s a problem, a challenging situation, or any kind of issue, things move very quickly to find a solution. I’d also highlight how modern and fast-growing the company is. As a young professional, that’s very important to me.

6. What one piece of advice would you give to someone considering a change of position within the company?
Go for it. You never know what new doors might open in your life if you decide to step through them.

At Balcia, we believe that everyone has the opportunity to grow and discover new strengths.
That’s why we encourage our colleagues to explore internal opportunities, step outside their comfort zones, and embrace change – because sometimes the best career move is closer than you think.
