What is Red Bull SoapBox?
The Soapbox Race is an annual event organized by Red Bull, where amateur teams compete with homemade non-motorized vehicles. These races emphasize creativity, speed, and entertainment value, so teams are judged both on vehicle design and performance. More than 100 such events have taken place worldwide, and for the second year in a row, we at Balcia have been supporting this event as well. This is definitely one of our brightest summer events!
Meet - Balcia "Wavemobile"
To participate in the races, participants had to create vehicles capable of turning and braking. These races are not just about speed - teams also need to demonstrate a creative approach - the more thought put into the design and entertainment for the spectators, the greater the chance of winning the race! The Balcia team was represented by Head of Compensation Dāvids Lēvalds, Insurance Specialist Rinalds Orlovskis, Junior Transport Risk Underwriter Elita Jansone, and Graphic Designer Signe Markus-Narvila. Our intern, Filips Andrejevs from SSE Riga, bravely took on the team captain or pilot role - hooray! With such a strong and motivated team, we can do anything and move forward fully!
Special thanks also go to our marketing team led by Brand Manager Kristiāna Valbe-Uzrauga and Patrīcija Freivalda, who took on the role of interviewer on the day of the event!
