Get ready to:
- Provide legal support for the functioning of Balcia’s governing bodies and ensure clarity and compliance in high-impact decision-making processes.
- Coordinate and manage Balcia’s communication with state supervisory authorities and other state and local institutions, ensuring timely, precise, and well-structured legal input.
- Prepare a wide range of legal documents — letters, submissions, authorizations, applications, and more — with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Draft, review, and improve various types of contracts while advising internal stakeholders on optimal contract strategies.
- Participate in the creation and development of internal documents, guidelines, workflows, procedures, and policies to strengthen legal compliance across the company.
- Support business, contract, financial, and other matters by contributing legal insight to Latvian and international projects, working groups, and initiatives essential to Balcia’s growth.
- Provide legal advice to colleagues on matters within your competence and act as a trusted partner for the business.
About you:
- You’re a motivated legal professional with a passion for building smart, reliable legal frameworks.
- You adapt quickly, think critically, and take ownership of your responsibilities — even when navigating complex and fast-changing legal scenarios.
- You bring energy, openness, and a positive mindset to your work while maintaining professionalism and precision.
- You’re solution-driven, strategic, and comfortable handling diverse legal matters with confidence and structure.

You’ll fit right in if you have:
- Professional qualification as a lawyer.
- At least 3 years of experience in a relevant legal role.
- Strong legal background in the financial industry — experience in insurance is a strong advantage.
- Ability to draft and review complex legal documents with precision.
- Knowledge of legal acts governing insurance services, corporate matters, employment law, and other relevant areas.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
- Experience cooperating with state authorities and participating in court-related processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Fluent Latvian and excellent English (written and spoken).
- A strong sense of responsibility, accuracy, and willingness to learn new procedures and systems.
